Crowborough Rotary 5th Golf Charity Day 2025

We had a memorable day at Crowborough Beacon Golf Club on 27th June 2025, as our Crowborough Rotary Golf Charity Day brought together golfers, sponsors, and supporters to raise £2,000 for Hospice in the Weald.

The event was a success, raising more money than last year,  thanks to the incredible generosity of local sponsors who supported 17 of the 18 holes, and to The Bake Shed, who provided a much-needed halfway house to keep players refreshed on one of the country’s top-ranked golf courses.

The competition was intense but friendly, with the charity team prize going to Beacon Bandits, with the runners up being last year’s winners, the Neville Crest and Gun. The individual winner was Terry Probert with second place to Mark Wilson.  Prizes were also won by Ryan Wickes and Claire Jones for Nearest The Pin and Samie LcLeod and Ben Head for the Longest Drive. Best Gross Birdie prize was won by Daniel Rowe.

After the final putt dropped, players were welcomed back with cold beers courtesy of Hoffmeister Beer, setting the tone for a relaxed and celebratory evening. The day concluded with a dinner at the Golf Club, where players, families, and friends gathered to reflect on the day’s achievements.

A highlight of the evening was a heartfelt speech by Caroline Beeson, a representative from Hospice in the Weald, who spoke movingly about the hospice’s work and the impact of the funds raised. Her words served as a powerful reminder of the importance of community support in sustaining vital care services.

A big THANK YOU to all participants, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters who made the day possible. Plans are already underway for next year’s event at Crowborough Beacon Golf Club, with hopes of an even bigger turnout. Please save Friday 15th May 2026 in your diary!
