On the 8th May 2025 Crowborough Town Council will be bringing the community together to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day at Goldsmiths Recreation Ground from 7.30 pm. VE Day marked the surrender of German Forces whilst Victory over Japan Day (VJ) day on the 15th August 1945, marked the surrender of Japans forces. There will be a range of events including war time songs and military vehicles. You are encouraged to come dressed in outfits from the era and the best outfit will be announced on stage – so dress to impress!
Crowborough Rotary will be running the Bar – come over for a drink and help us raise money for local charities. The event will close with the lighting of the Crowborough Beacon in line with the lighting of beacons across the rest of the UK at 9.30pm followed by the singing of the National Anthem.
